Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has debunked claims circulating about his alleged arrest. In a statement shared on social media, Obi clarified that he is currently at his home in Onitsha, Anambra State, and that the reports of his arrest are entirely false.
The former Anambra State governor expressed frustration over the recurring fake news aimed at discrediting him, noting that such rumors have become a recurring issue. Obi reminded the public of a similar incident in September of the previous year, when false reports claimed the Department of State Services (DSS) had invaded his home in Rwanda.
Obi emphasized that the motives behind these baseless rumors are not positive and urged Nigerians to not be distracted by them. He stressed the importance of focusing on the pressing issues the nation faces, encouraging citizens to stay committed to building a better Nigeria.
Obi thanked the public for their continued support and concern, reaffirming his commitment to the cause of national progress.
