The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has called off its planned strike action following a meeting with the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun. The union had issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government on February 12, demanding the implementation of the new national minimum wage and other benefits.

The strike was suspended after the CJN intervened during a meeting with representatives of the federal courts, the Federal Capital Territory High Court, judicial bodies, and the national leadership of JUSUN at the union’s headquarters in Abuja.J

JUSUN had threatened an indefinite strike if their demands were not met, but the CJN’s intervention has averted the industrial action, ensuring that court activities will continue uninterrupted.
