Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has declared that she possesses “concrete evidence” to support her allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President, Godswill Akpabio. Akpoti-Uduaghan made this statement while urging Akpabio’s wife, Unoma, to distance herself from the controversy.
The dispute between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio began when she refused a reassigned seating arrangement on the Senate floor. The situation escalated when Akpoti-Uduaghan detailed how Akpabio allegedly victimized her for refusing his sexual advances, including refusing to take her motions, maligning, and intimidating her.
Unoma responded by accusing Akpoti-Uduaghan of creating content for personal gain and lying about her husband. However, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s lawyer, Victor Giwa, sent a legal letter to Unoma, advising her to stay out of the matter to safeguard her sanity and that of her family. The letter emphasized that Akpoti-Uduaghan has concrete evidence to support her allegations and suggested that Akpabio should defend himself.
In a separate development, Unoma has sued Akpoti-Uduaghan for defamation and fundamental rights infringement at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, seeking N350 billion in damages.
