Former Sokoto State Governor and current Senator, Aminu Tambuwal, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Monday at the launch of a Ramadan relief package aimed at assisting over 30,000 households across Sokoto State, Tambuwal expressed optimism about the PDP’s chances, stating that Nigerians are disillusioned with the APC-led government.
“We have seen the challenges facing Nigerians, and it is clear that the people are yearning for change. The PDP remains the only party capable of rescuing Nigeria from its current economic and security difficulties,” Tambuwal said.
He emphasized the importance of unity within the opposition and urged PDP members to remain steadfast in their commitment to the party’s ideals. The Ramadan package distribution, he noted, was part of efforts to support vulnerable families during the fasting period.
Tambuwal, who played a key role in the 2023 elections, remains a strong voice in the opposition and is seen as a major political force ahead of 2027. His statement adds to the growing political discourse about the next election cycle, with many Nigerians debating the future of governance in the country.
