A gathering of Nigeria’s business elite on Thursday resulted in an impressive show of financial support for the forthcoming IBB Presidential Library, honoring former military president Ibrahim Babangida.

 

Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, led the donations with a substantial pledge of N6 billion, comprising N2 billion annual installments over four years. Dangote praised Babangida’s pivotal role in establishing Nigeria’s private sector.

 

Abdulsamad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group, followed with a N5 billion donation, lauding the presidential library as a testament to Babangida’s lasting impact.

 

Other notable contributors included Theophilus Danjuma (N3 billion), Godswill Akpabio (N50 million), Arthur Eze (N500 million), and Mustafa Chike-Obi (N100 million).

 

The collective donations will facilitate the establishment of the IBB Presidential Library, dedicated to preserving Babangida’s legacy and promoting Nigeria’s history and culture.
