A 55-year-old Edo man, Osaro Ahunwan is alleged to have set fire to the home of his estranged wife, Tina Uyi, in Idumwonwina, near Oluku, within the Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state after she refused him entry in an attempt to divorce him .
ForesightTv gathered that Tina, a 54-year-old businesswoman based in Italy, returned to Nigeria on December 31, 2024, to celebrate the New Year with her family while planing to dirvoce the estranged husband.
According to eyewitnesses, after being denied entry into Tina’s residence, Osaro allegedly doused the building with petrol and set it ablaze.
It took the intervention of good spirited individuals for Tina’s aged parents to be rescued while Edo State Fire Service extinguished the fire.
