The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has dismissed reports that a retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, was kidnapped and killed in Abuja.
According to a statement by the police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, Parradang died in a hotel room, not as a result of a kidnapping incident. The statement revealed that Parradang arrived at the Joy House Hotel in Area 3 Junction on March 3, 2025, and checked into a room, paying N22,000 for a one-night stay.
A female guest visited Parradang in his room, but she left the hotel premises around 4:00 pm. Parradang was found dead in his room the next morning by a military officer friend who had become concerned for his wellbeing.
The police have commenced investigations, and hotel staff are cooperating with the authorities. The body has been transferred to the National Hospital for further procedures.
