In a heartbreaking turn of events, Lawal Hafsoh Yetunde, a final-year student at Kwara State College of Education, has been found dead in the house of an Islamic cleric in Ilorin.

Hafsoh was lured from Facebook by Abdulrahman Mohad Ballo, a cleric’s son from the Isalekoto community. Reports indicate that she was tragically killed for ritual purposes.

The Kwara State Police Command revealed that Hafsoh went missing after attending a naming ceremony. She stepped away to take a call and never returned. Her father, Ibrahim Lawal, reported her disappearance to the Oja-Oba Police Division.

With the help of her phone number, the police tracked her last call to a suspect residing in the Ofa Garage area of Ilorin. Initially, he denied knowing her whereabouts, but a search of his home revealed a horrifying scene: Hafsoh’s body was found dismembered and hidden in a bowl, alongside tools believed to be used in the gruesome act.

The suspect is now in custody at the Kwara State Police Headquarters, and investigations are ongoing.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online interactions. Stay safe, everyone!
