The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a significant increase in the monthly allowance for corps members. Starting February 2025, corps members will receive N77,000, up from the previous N33,000.

Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the NYSC Director-General, made the announcement while addressing 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina State. He confirmed that the increment has been included in the 2025 Federal Government budget and will take effect once the budget is passed.

General Ahmed emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare and security of corps members. He urged them to reciprocate this gesture by serving diligently and contributing positively to their host communities.

The NYSC Director-General also reassured corps members that their safety and security are a top priority. He stated that corps members will not be posted to areas with security challenges, ensuring that they can serve without undue risk.
